About Stark Capital

Providing discretionary risk management for the capital of high net worth individuals and families using quantitative signals in conjunction with fundamental hedge fund research. Developing and implementing detailed comprehensive financial plans customized for you.

IT’S OUR PASSION

We are the antithesis of Wall Street’s narratives, agendas, and conflicts of interest. Our focus is to grow and protect your capital…each and every day. It’s why we rise every morning and challenge ourselves to improve in our craft and in our lives.

THE STARK CAPITAL ADVANTAGE

  • Sophisticated hedge-fund-driven, macro investment approach combined with rules based quantitative signals. This assists in keeping emotions out of the investment process.
  • We’re independent, allowing us to provide more personalized services and maintain our fiduciary responsibility.
  • Investment selection automation via quantitative models to eliminate the pitfalls of human decision-making. We realize that markets change constantly. We believe it is prudent to recalculate daily and re-access our probabilities for favorable outcomes and make changes when necessary.

THE STARK CAPITAL DIFFERENCE

Our process is quite distinct in that our core portfolio holdings are complemented by satellite positions that we trade on a more consistent basis with the ultimate goal of alpha generation. Our experience is that this approach is new and uncharted for most investors as "buy and hold” has no place here.

You will only work with a board CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. Since there are only approximately 80,000 professionals who are certified by the CFP® Board, yes, it certainly distinguishes our firm. Visit Let's Make a Plan and see why.

Our Platform

Our process is multi factor and multi duration. Always working to recognize changes as the incoming data changes. Bayesian inference process helps in making new decisions relative to new information...not anchoring on one set of personally held beliefs.

Quantitative analysis and back testing is performed daily. Each holding is ranked and evaluated to see if it warrants a place in our lineup given the current macro backdrop.

Risk mitigation is implemented by incorporating quantitative or mathematical data sets, predictive trends, and ever evolving macro data.

FACT BASED INVESTING

Most advisors allocate assets based on fundamental concerns (i.e., things happening in the world outside the markets: geopolitical events, business news and forecasts, World Bank/IMF activity, fiscal policy, Fed policy, government reports, investor-sentiment polls, etc.) - concerns that are frequently reflected in the markets for only a day or two or, if they’re reflected at all. Additionally assets are allocated based academic-based theories; especially prominent among these is the heavy allocation of monies to certain asset classes, based  solely on historical performance (known as ‘strategic’ allocations) … even when those very asset classes haven’t done enough in recent timeframes.

We base our investment decisions on the probabilities that certain market scenarios either will or won’t unfold, purely via real-time analyses of mathematical data from inside the markets - the place where we can actually quantify a one-to-one cause and effect on investments!

In sum:  ‘What might be’ = forecast-based, fundamental-based investing; ‘What should be’ = academic theories on investing; ‘What is’ = responding to markets in real time, based on things we can quantify…we do what the math tells us.

INVESTMENT STRATEGIES:

All Equity:

This all equity model is a higher activity approach which provides exposure to the top seven ranked stocks in the S&P 500. This ranking is achieved by comparing longer-term performance with shorter-term performance. The greater the difference, the higher the ranking, thus the more a stock is breaking away from the anchoring of its longer-term performance. This highly active strategy is most appropriate for investors with a higher risk tolerance.

Sector Focus:

A multi-cap, sector driven strategy that closely tracks S&P 500. Model combines relative-strength rankings, current market trends, and predetermined minimum and maximum equities exposure. This model utilizes low cost exchange traded funds (ETF).

Fixed Income:

Continuously invested model that is reallocated quarterly. The portfolio members are selected from 15 wide-ranging bond sectors based on their strength rankings. The model seeks to achieve out performance based on these selections using passive low-cost exchange traded funds.

Each offering is complemented with our macro overlay to help focus on longer term conditions that have historically driven financial markets.

The S&P 500 Index is a capitalization-weighted index of 500 stocks designed to measure performance of the broad domestic economy through changes in the aggregate market value of 500 stocks representing all major industries.
